IICRC CERTIFIED FIRM Spotlight

911 Restoration of Central Arkansas Conway, AR
Chad Haynes

How were you introduced to the industry?

12 years ago, I was doing remodeling & a large hail storm passed through our area. This gave me a chance to work on many of the homes and it all started from there.

What led you to become an IICRC Certified Firm?

One of my business goals is to become a premier restoration company.  Since IICRC Certified Firms are known for their high level of technical experience and professionalism, that is what drove me to the decision to have myself and my entire team certified in different areas. Our certifications and desire to serve our community at the highest level is what makes us a good fit.

What do you do to market your firm?
We state that we are IICRC certified on our website and work hard to stay connected in the community to establish and maintain relationships. We recently started email marketing and added some additional social media channels, a reviews program, referral program and have received a lot of business from word of mouth. We are continually working to increase our brand exposure, and exploring new ways to grow and market.
What’s one unique thing about restoration in your area? Any specific challenges youface due to your location?

We have extreme heat & extreme cold along with flooding & tornados throughout the year. Being in a rural area gives us a large service area, which also means we have to travel many miles to take care of our customers.

Your firm specializes in restoration. How did you end up in this area of the industry?

My background is being a General Contractor. I got my insurance adjuster license, which then led me into the restoration industry.

If you could give one piece of advice to a young professional starting out in the industry, what would it be?

Be patient in the business and do not take on more than you understand or can handle. Build up a good network of professionals in the industry and ask a lot of questions.

What do you like most about your job?

I like helping people through some of the worst experiences by providing a calm and supportive overview of the process and being a support system to listen. The experience for homeowners can be devastating and have we found that delivering on our promises by reconstructing the loss like it   never happened makes a big difference.

What is the most rewarding thing about owning a restoration business?

My team and I work hard to support our community and deliver on all promises.

Can you talk about a restoration “horror” story or anything funny you have encountered during your career?

Something that can be considered both horror and funny was a few years back we a hug loss job and the adjuster stated to me “you should be done with drying in 3-5 days” and “in my 15 years of business I have never seen a drying job go over 5 days”.

It’s a good thing that we follow all IICRC standards including the S500 Standard which provides a specific set of practical standards for water damage restoration in addition to an outline of the process and details for every aspect with Matterport images to cover all bases.

Is there a restoration job that you are particularly proud of?

Yes, there are many, since I have small children, I related most to a call that came in during the middle of the day from a preschool that had a sprinkler go off in one of the classrooms. Before they could stop the sprinkler, the water affected almost every room in the 14,675 sqft building except 2 class rooms.  After we arrived and completed the full report and sent it to the management company for approval to move forward, we had to act quickly so the kids could return back to the building.

We brought in a good amount of equipment and started the demo & drying process quickly and had the areas dried out and the kids were able to return to their classrooms the next day. We worked continually doing the reconstruction work in the evenings and throughout the night so the kids could have reasonable amount of space available the next day.

We completed the project within 14 days which made me very proud of my guys as they all stepped in and put in many hours. We were able to dry the property as quickly as possible because of the training and education outlined by the IICRC Standards.
